MEET CARLIS LOLLIE
Carlis Lollie was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and has proudly called Harris County home her entire life. Growing up in South Park and Third Ward, she embodies the values of hard work, perseverance, and community. A proud graduate of Jack Yates Senior High School and a two-time graduate of Texas Southern University (BA, MA), Carlis went on to earn additional degrees from Texas Woman’s University (BSN) and The University of Texas at Arlington (MSN).
Early in her career, Carlis worked in television production for nationally syndicated court TV shows such as Judge Alex and Cristina’s Court. There, she gained firsthand insight into how court systems impact real people’s lives. This was an experience that continues to shape her desire to work for the people. Carlis later transitioned into healthcare, becoming a registered nurse and eventually a nurse practitioner. She has over a decade of experience serving veterans and patients with complex conditions such as sickle cell disease. She advanced to healthcare leadership where she managed required funding allocations, developed and directed process improvement initiatives, and led a team of diverse backgrounds.
In 2013, Carlis founded S.H.E. Squared, a nonprofit organization that provides scholarships, mentorship, and sustainable community programs. Through this work, she has designed initiatives that support underserved communities, strengthen families, and maximize limited resources. Moreover, Carlis was the proprietor of a healthcare and wellness marketing company that produced expositions across major U.S. cities and abroad. These events connected communities to vital health resources and demonstrated her ability to manage operations, coordinate logistics, and lead diverse teams.
Carlis is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, a long-time volunteer with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, and an active member of several local and national service organizations. Carlis remains deeply committed to community and public service.
